There is a white box behind the item when you try to place it in the room or If you can’t open the Mystery Box – when you refresh it disappears. However, please check your inventory as you should receive a new item if it disappears with out opening.  Also to troubleshoot try opening these straight from your inventory. I learnt that, there was a super duper glitch when 50’s vintage theme released. And Stools sold for 3 coins. YES ! just 3 coins. Now I see they sell for 1k in events. What a huge winning Some of us really lucky.
